Friday trip 29. 9. 2023

Dear friends, competitors to the Soběšický Hill,
We have organized a Friday trip for you around Brno on Friday. Without throwing a grenade and various competitions, but flying through beautiful landscapes with endless panoramas, with enough space to meet friends, say hello and chat. The vintage of historic vehicles is not limited, just please do not drive new cars. The route is approximately 110 km.

The meeting will take place at the Technical Museum in Brno from 9 a.m. We expect to set off on the route at 10 a.m.

The first stop will be at the castle in Rájec-Jestřebí. In the courtyard, we will take pictures of each vehicle and its crew.

The second stop will be at the Rudka Hotel near Kunštátu. There is a large parking lot, an arranged lunch, and the possibility of visiting the Cave of the Blanický Knights and the Burian Lookout Tower (Milenka).

The third stop will be at our friend and VAC Brno member Vojta Hamerník's in Vohančice. Drive past the children's playground, where there is a building with refreshments. There will be time for coffee and dessert. Please bake a bábovka, strudel, biblanin... save me the trouble and you can offer your goodness to friends. Don't forget to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. This is also where the expected end will be around 3:00 PM and you can go home freely or together.

Rajec nad Svitavou Castle

It is a unique Louis XVI style castle with a characteristic mansard roof divided by dormers. Built on the site of a Renaissance castle that burned down at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. The castle is a classicist three-winged storey building with a mansard roof on a U-shaped ground plan. During your visit, you will admire the representative and social rooms on the ground floor with 19th century furnishings in the Rococo style. The largest room is the Hall of Ancestors with portraits of the Salms and Roggendorfs. The library with 60,000 volumes is also noteworthy.
The castle is surrounded by an English park. More information here.

Cave of the Blanický Knights

The artificially created cave is located near the town of Kunštát, near the village of Rudka. The creation of the cave was inspired by Czech history. The cave contains 17 statues of the Blaníčky knights and three legionaries and the remains of a statue of TG Masaryk. The statues were created by Stanislav Rolínek, a native of nearby Bořitov. He was the first to create a 13 m high statue of TG Masaryk, which was destroyed by the Nazis. The entrance to the cave is guarded by a massive statue of a lion. More information here.
